Creating physical artworks shaped by people, place and shared stories.
I am an artist working with communities, institutions and partners to create permanent and temporary public artworks rooted in place, participation and narrative. My practice brings together collaborative making, heritage research and visual storytelling to create work that reflects collective identity and leaves a lasting legacy.
Alongside large-scale community commissions, I maintain a studio practice of original artworks, exhibited internationally and held in private collections.
Allan was commissioned to produce a mosaic depicting various characters/ events related to Fydell House ready for our grand reopening after a year long refurbishment. What he produced was beyond our expectation! Close up the ‘Polaroid’ pictures of people and events were clear and easy to distinguish. From a distance the front of our beautiful Queen Anne house emerged! How he did it we can only ponder but he did it so effectively.
Allan was a pleasure to work with. He communicated throughout the project keeping us up to date on progress and sending little teasers of his work to whet our appetite. It was a real pleasure to meet him when he came to install the artwork as he already felt like a friend having communicated so effectively.

Working with Allan on the Lincolnshire Mosaic of Freedom was a pleasure, his approach was flexible and creative, yet grounded in the realities of working with our communities, the process was inclusive, thoughtful and thorough, and the final piece resonated strongly with participants and visitors alike.
